The
PRIORITIZER is an AC Load
Management System that
combines and manages several loads with partial duty
cycles into one equivalent load of up to 100% duty cycle.
It can be used when emergency backup power is limited
(a standby generator), full time with alternate power
sources (solar or wind-powered battery banks, fuel cells,
or other non-grid sources), or full time with utility
power (to limit peak demand billing surcharges).
- Add more motor loads without overloading your backup
Genset or Inverter
- Automatically sequences high power loads to reduce
peak demand
- Peak Load Shaving to reduce utility peak demand charges
- Prevents multiple surge (motor) loads from starting/running
simultaneously
- Reduces power surges by Zero-Crossing switching
- Remote Utility Override for backup use only
- Easy installation - priority selection is hard-wired
- Controls 3, 4, 6, or 8 LOADS 120/240 V mixed on 1
or 2 lines

Peak
shaving load management reduces the need to oversize
a Genset or Inverter system for worst case peak load
created by the random timing of self-starting loads.
By preventing more than one of the combined loads from
running at the same time, the PRIORITIZER helps to solve
the problem of sizing the backup power system capacity
required to handle multiple self-starting high power
loads, especially those with a high starting surge current.
This has the effect of increasing the self-starting motor
load capacity of a backup (or off-line) power source.
FEATURES :
- Intelligent
Unit automatically switches off loads or appliances
of lower priority when a higher priority load activates,
and turns them back on when it's finished.
- Automatic
When utility power is available the unit can enable
all of the loads, only sequencing when source power
is limited, as from a generator, battery bank, or
fuel cell. Of course, if you wish to sequence your
loads at all times, for demand management, this feature
is also standard.
- Fast
When a high priority load activates, the lower priority
loads are disabled in typically 16 to 33 milliseconds
(1 to 2 AC cycles). This allows for maximum available
starting amperage for motors.
- Smooth
The unit waits five seconds before lower priority loads
are re-energized to eliminate false starts due to
contact bounce in appliance controllers
- Flexible
The unit may be wired into your electrical service
in such a way as to allow you to choose the number
and priority level of the appliances which it monitors
and controls. You may mix 120 volt and 240 volt loads
freely among the circuits.
- Safe
The unit is thermally protected, shutting off all controlled
loads if they should pull too much current, thereby
overheating the unit. When the relays cool down,
the unit will automatically begin sequencing once
again.
